Americans Edge Out France in Tokyo Final

Third Consecutive Gold Medal for Team USA

The United States men's basketball team continued its Olympic dominance on Saturday, edging out France 87-82 in the Tokyo final. It was the Americans' third consecutive gold medal in the event, and their 16th overall.

The Americans got off to a slow start, but they eventually found their rhythm and pulled away in the second half. Kevin Durant led the way for the United States with 29 points, while Damian Lillard added 18 points and Jayson Tatum contributed 16 points.

Evan Fournier led France with 28 points, while Rudy Gobert added 16 points and nine rebounds. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Americans' firepower.

The victory was a fitting end to a dominant Olympic tournament for the United States. The Americans won all six of their games by an average of 20.3 points, and they never trailed in any of their contests.
