The Chicago Blackhawks made nine selections on Day 2 of the 2023 NHL Draft today at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, bringing their overall total to 11 picks. The Blackhawks entered the day with 11 picks, but their first pick could be worth more than the other 10 over the long term.

The Hawks received a sixth-round pick in 2023 (No. 167), which they spent on Milton Oscarson, and a second-round pick in 2024 previously owned by the Los Angeles Kings.

Oscarson, a 6-foot-6 center from Sweden, has played with Orebro in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) since 2020-21. Last season, he had 10 goals and 13 assists in 45 games.

The Blackhawks also selected defenseman Lucas Edmonds (No. 130), forward Aidan Thompson (No. 160), defenseman Ethan Peters (No. 171), forward David Moravec (No. 192), defenseman Ian Moore (No. 203), forward Colby Barlow (No. 214), forward Justin Poirier (No. 225), and forward Oliver Dalman (No. 235).

Edmonds, a right-shot defenseman, played for the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) last season, where he had 10 goals and 24 assists in 68 games.

Thompson, a left-wing, played for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) last season, where he had 14 goals and 21 assists in 57 games.

Peters, a right-shot defenseman, played for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL last season, where he had 5 goals and 18 assists in 56 games.

Moravec, a right-wing, played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL last season, where he had 15 goals and 17 assists in 59 games.

Moore, a left-shot defenseman, played for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL last season, where he had 3 goals and 16 assists in 58 games.

Barlow, a right-wing, played for the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL last season, where he had 26 goals and 24 assists in 68 games.

Poirier, a left-wing, played for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL last season, where he had 16 goals and 16 assists in 68 games.

Dalman, a center, played for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL last season, where he had 9 goals and 12 assists in 59 games.
