Dallas Mavericks Win Wild Historic Game Against Atlanta Hawks

ATLANTA, Ga. - Luka Doncic scored a franchise-record 73 points on January 26, 2024, leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 148-143 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Doncic's performance was the highest-scoring game by any player in the NBA this season. He also became the first player to score 70 or more points for the Mavericks since Dirk Nowitzki did so in December of 2004.
The game was a back-and-forth affair, with the Hawks taking a 7-point lead in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. However, Doncic rallied the Mavericks back, scoring 10 points in the final two minutes to seal the victory.
In addition to his record-setting performance, Doncic also had 13 rebounds and 15 assists. He was one assist shy of a triple-double, which would have been his first of the season.
The Mavericks' victory snapped a two-game losing streak and improved their record to 25-18 on the season. They are now just 3.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the Southwest Division lead.
